Possible Malware - No Sound, Other bugs
My computer froze completely after I ran a zone alarm spyware scan. I had to shut down the computer manually. When it rebooted I had no sound (although I do have the start up and shut down windows sound). But when I start up iTunes, for example, it says my sound is not operating properly. Also, in my sound and audio devices it says I have none. My computer also won't load internet explorer (I'm on firefox right now). Firefox works fine except when I click on a hyperlink in a search engine I get redirected to various other websites. Also, my computer won't let me defrag.

Also, I've tried to run hijack this and it doesn't seem to be working. I've never used it before. But when I click "do a system scan and save log file" it goes to a screen with a list of directories and then nothing happens. When I try to scroll down the screen is says "action cannot be completed because other application is busy" and there a bar on the top that says "registry and start menu autoruns" that is about 5/6's of the way complete but doesn't go anywhere. Does it take a long time? Am I being impatient?

HELP!

Just bumping. Still having the same issue except my IE seems to be working now. But my computer is still going slow, some of my programs won't load, still redirecting, no sound, says "no devices" even though their are devices. Can anyone help? I might just end up reformatting but I'd rather not. Help!
