Unhappy Log Out Immediately After Logging In
Hello,

The Problem

When the XP login screen appears, I click my user (as I would usually) to login, but the desktop wallpaper flashes up for a few seconds then it says 'saving settings, logging off' and returns me to the login screen.

I have tried in safe mode, on all accounts (including the administrator) and it does the same!

Before this problem occured, I was removing spyware with SpyBot S&D, rebooted the PC, and then bang - the problem started!

Have been doing a lot of research on this tonight. Many suggest that userinit in the registery is likely to have been modified. I have tried going into the Windows Repair console and copying userinit to wsaupdater, but still no joy!

I have just created a UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD), and checked the registry to find that the userinit key is fine!

Formatting is not an option as i've got lots of University and freelance work saved on my desktop etc.

Any suggestions welcome, I just want to be able to login again

Thanks in advance!!

Joshua

Fixed
Fixed with the use of Vista Recorvery Disc (using repair computer -> cmd prompt), and then running saveme v 1.15.0
