Hi,

I am having various problems with my pc, very slow start up, insanely slow to do anything, random shut downs and so on. Have ran everything in my arsenal (MalwareBytes, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Microsoft Malicious, AVG and Housecall), found several trojans and removed them, cleaned the registry and rebooted only to find them there again.

Removed all the files again, did a full sweep with everything and it was clean. But now when I start up it takes ages, and the desktop doesn't appear until I go into task manager and end the process 'SQL Server' and 'SQL Writer'. Also, Windows Media Player (and its associated network programs) keeps appearing in the list of processes, even though it is never running.

I resolved this issue.

Going into safe mode and running thorough scans of everything found nothing. However, when I uninstalled Zone Alarm Extreme (due to its insane CPU usage) and reinstalled McAfee, McAfee found the infected files straight away and removed them.

Had to manually delete the registry edit, to ensure it didnt reinstall itself.

Ran everything again and nothing - no problems since!
