Exclamation Virus problem
I have Windows XP Professional on my Acer. I have been having virus and spyware problems lately. Last time I was able to use my computer normally I ran AVG free and found nothing, then I ran the microsoft malware removal tool and found nothing, I had the most recent updates on both. Then I ran Spybot Search & Destroy and found several items, one of them being Trojan Virtumonde. But my computer would restart before the scan finished, leaving the problems unfixed. I paused the scan after it discovered the Trojan Virtumonde and tried to fix it, then ran Search & Destroy again on startup. Since then I can't get into Windows. Every time I try to it logs me out of Windows and back to the user logon screen. When I click the user logon button it immediately logs me off before Windows can even open up. I figured it would be a good idea to boot up in safe mode and do a system restore, but I can't get to the option to boot in safe mode. I don't have a bootable Windows CD handy, but I can get one. Please help. I will try any advice I can get. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
