| NO Anti virus is being upate I am getting failed update message from my AVG antivirus protection. I'm not very computer savvy but what little I did to try to fix it, didn't work. For some reason I thought uninstalling it would be a good idea, thinking I would just install it again. I have tried downloading them all..avast,Mcafee,comodo but all are showing the same message "Update failed" So now I don't even have that. When I am trying to do an online scan with house call the window shuts own on its own. I think something is effecting my drivers also, the sound driver is not working. I am pasting logs of HijackT & Unistall list...Plz help HijackT log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 4:49:40 PM, on 5/3/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16827) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ibmpmsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\EvtEng.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\S24EvMon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgwdsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\RegSrvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgrsx.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgnsx.exe C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\SMAgent.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\TPHDEXLG.EXE C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe D:\SOFTWARE\Firefox\firefox.exe D:\SOFTWARE\Trend Mirco\HiJackThis.exe O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file) O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O2 - BHO: AcroIEToolbarHelper Class - {AE7CD045-E861-484f-8273-0445EE161910} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat\AcroIEFavClient.dll O2 - BHO: Google Dictionary Compression sdch - {C84D72FE-E17D-4195-BB24-76C02E2E7C4E} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\Component\fastsearch_219B3E1547538286.dll (file missing) O2 - BHO: Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper - {DBC80044-A445-435b-BC74-9C25C1C588A9} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jp2ssv.dll O2 - BHO: JQSIEStartDetectorImpl - {E7E6F031-17CE-4C07-BC86-EABFE594F69C} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\deploy\jqs\ie\jqs_plugin.dll O3 - Toolbar: Adobe PDF - {47833539-D0C5-4125-9FA8-0819E2EAAC93} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat\AcroIEFavClient.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IgfxTray] C:\WINDOWS\System32\igfxtray.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HotKeysCmds] C:\WINDOWS\System32\hkcmd.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SoundMAXPnP] C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\SMax4PNP.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SoundMAX] C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\Smax4.exe /tray O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TPHOTKEY] C:\PROGRA~1\ThinkPad\PkgMgr\HOTKEY\TPHKMGR.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TpShocks] TpShocks.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TP4EX] tp4ex.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPLpr] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPEnh] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PWRMGRTR] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\ThinkPad\UTILIT~1\PWRMGRTR.DLL,PwrMgrBkGndMonitor O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BLOG] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\ThinkPad\UTILIT~1\BatLogEx.DLL,StartBattLog O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [googletalk] C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe /autostart O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [{0228e555-4f9c-4e35-a3ec-b109a192b4c2}] D:\SOFTWARE\Gmail Notifier\Program\Gmail Notifier\gnotify.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MYGIC TV Control] C:\Program Files\Appliction\MYGIC TV\Remote.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Schedule] "C:\Program Files\Appliction\MYGIC TV\Schedule.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NBJ] "C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero BackItUp\NBJ.exe" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Google Update] "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe" /c O4 - Startup: WordWeb.lnk = D:\SOFTWARE\Dictionary\Program\WordWeb\wweb32.exe O4 - Global Startup: Acrobat Assistant.lnk = C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Distillr\acrotray.exe O4 - Global Startup: Digital Line Detect.lnk = ? | Click Start, right click on explorer and select internet properties Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset. Also try the restore option When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK. Then reboot your computer and try to update AVG antivirus protection? If not. try the below: I notice your using Firefox so let's look for something specific first. GooredFix Download GooredFix (by jpshortstuff) from Here & save it to your Desktop.
Next Download this tool http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf Right click on the file and choose install. And post the reports please.... Last edited by Kenny94; 03-May-2009 at 08:14 PM.. |

| Please visit Combofix Guide & Instructions for instructions for installing the recovery console and downloading and running ComboFix. The only thing different from the instructions there is that when downloading and saving the ComboFix.exe I would like you to rename it to Combo-Fix.exe please. Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that along with a new HijackThis log. Important notes regarding ComboFix: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser. This can easily be changed once we're finished. ComboFix also prevents autorun of ALL CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you, please let me know. This can be undone manually when we're finished. Read HERE for an article written by dvk01 on why we disable autoruns. Note: During this process, it would help a great deal and be very much appreciated if you would refrain from installing any new software or hardware on this machine, unless absolutely necessary, until the clean up process is finished as it makes our job more tedious, with additional new files that may have to be researched, which is very time consuming. Also, please do not run any security programs or fixes on your own as doing so may compromise what we will be doing. It is important that you wait for instructions. |

| Hi ritouraj I do not see any malware in you logs. Remove Avg with AVG Remover(32bit) at: http://www.avg.com/download-tools and reboot your computer. I want to clean your Hosts Files Download the HostsXpert 4.2 - Hosts File Manager.
I would like you to download and install a free antivirus program.. And let me know what happens? |

If everything is find your good to go...Follow these steps to uninstall Combofix and all of its files and components.
Some final items: Now that your system is clean you should SET A NEW RESTORE POINT to prevent future reinfection from the old restore point AFTER cleaning your system of any malware infection. Any trojans or spyware you picked up could have been saved in System Restore and are waiting to re-infect you. Since System Restore is a protected directory, your tools can not access it to delete files, trapping viruses inside. Setting a new restore point should be done to prevent any future reinfection from the old restore point and enable your computer to "roll-back" in case there is a future problem. To SET A NEW RESTORE POINT: 1. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click "System Restore". 2. Choose the radio button marked "Create a Restore Point" on the first screen then click "Next". Give the R.P. a name then click "Create". The new point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a log of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore. 3. Then go to Start > Run and type: Cleanmgr 4. Click "OK". 5. Click the "More Options" Tab. 6. Click "Clean Up" in the System Restore section to remove all previous restore points except the newly created one. Graphics for doing this are in the following links if you need them.
