Every anti-spyware program crashes, Google redirects, BSODs
Hi, a few days ago, my computer ground to a halt, my (Windows) firewall turned itself off and I was forced to reset. At startup, I promptly reactivated the firewall and ran a virus check with AVG. I was infested with Trojans; only 2 days before that I was all clear!

However I am experiencing lots of crazy symptoms. Spybot quits itself a few seconds after I start a scan. Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool crashes on 1%, and the online scan freezes on 1%. Spyware Doctor completes, but doesn't find the cause of the problem. CCleaner quits itself when I have "Temporary Files" checked, and completes when it is unchecked. ATF-Cleaner and TFC.exe crash (ATF-Cleaner only crashes if I check "Windows Temp Files"). I tried Spyhunter 3, which closed itself. Malwarebytes closes itself after about 3 minutes.

Prior to this I was using Spybot without any problems. My guess is that there is something nasty in my temp files that doesn't like to be touched.

Google redirects me to dodgy search sites, as other posters have documented. I was experiencing a BSOD, something about a DRIVER IRQL, but running AVG in safe mode put an end to that.

I am at a loss. It seems that when every cleaner/anti-spyware program cannot finish a scan, a very high level of expertise is required! If anyone can help me with this, I will be so, so grateful.

Here is the HijackThis log, I hope you don't mind that I replaced my name with "[MY NAME]".

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: Kaspersky completed after I left the default boxes checked. It found 1 virus, Trojan-Spy.Win32.Amber.bt. I restarted, rescanned with "Deep rootkit search" and it found nothing. The spyware and temp-file-cleaning programs still crash.

UPDATE2: I have SKYNET*.tmp files in Windows\Temp. I'm pretty sure these are malicious. When I click on the Windows\Temp folder, explorer crashes. I think the issue lies in here.

UPDATE3: Avast did it! It ran a bootup scan, which found 50-odd infections, lots of SKYNET*.tmp files in Windows\Temp. I restarted, and all the Spyware programs now work. For anyone out there with the same issue - I highly recommend Avast. Spybot picked up Smitfraud, let in (I assume, as I was clear the other day) by these viruses. Hopefully that is the end of it.
