Hello,

Helping a friend remove meta.juan from her PC laptop-and we've tried EVERYTHING and have surfed around every forum and it won't die!

I went to Symantec's removal instructions and couldn't find the registry items they ask you to delete. I've run scans in safe mode with Symantec. I've run Ad Aware. It won't let me run Malwarebytes or spybot, and won't let me install AVG or much else.

Symantec has been able to identify the meta.juan, but can't remove it.

This virus causes some trouble with startup, and has corrupted firefox and internet explorer. It also plays random music that I don't recognize in the background when no player is running...ugh.

I deleted some suspicious registry items I found in forums with Hijackthis (which I renamed so it would run, which hasn't worked with any other program) and there are less startup problems, but the virus is still there.

I need some custom help ASAP! The friend who's computer is infected leaves for Spain on Wednesday!

This is very important! Urgent!
