Cool Will USB virus infect my external drive if I have a mac?
Hello all,

I picked up a few viruses on my flash drive and camera SD card from internet cafe's in asia, the most nasty of which is called secret.crush, which I think is a trojan. I wasn't able to clear it with a kaspersky/trendmicro scans, and it has corrupted many of the jpgs on my camera card. It seems to jump between USB devices, and puts files in hidden folders, then I THINK executes when one opens the shortcut folder (this is just my best guess).

I am now home with my macbook, but am hesitant to try and extract the data off these drives. I know the virus shouldn't infect a mac (although since macbooks have intel now could it?), but I keep all my information on an external drive, and my main concern is risk of infecting that, seeing as it has done so much damage to the data on my flash drive.

My questions are the following:
1) Is it possible for a PC based virus to jump to another USB device if using OS X? Should I be worried?
2) Is there a way to protect my external drive just in case?
3) Is there some way to be sure the data itself isn't infected, as I'd want to back it up on my external drive?

Thanks so much for any advice!
