| I tried searching C:\Users\RAC\AppData\Local\Temp\a.exe and got this msg: Windows cannot find ' C:\Users\RAC\AppData\Local\Temp\a.exe ' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. I also tried searching for Local\Temp\a.exe and this only brought up the two HJT logs that I ran. Do you think that the file is already gone ? Redfeennix |

| Huh, this is weird Cookiegal. I did a scan with HJT (as requested) and when it came up this file O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PopRock] C:\Users\RAC\AppData\Local\Temp\a.exe did not appear. However, when the Notepad version came up it DID appear. I copied said Notepad version of that scan below. I was gonna do a "print screen" version of the scan (where the file did NOT appear) but instead I checked it line by line and did not see it. Are you having nightmares about me and my computer yet ? Sorry. | Hello again Lady )This is part 2 of 2 in reply to your last post. I just wanted to let you know that at some point in our correspondence here that the annoying IE Windows have ceased to pop up on me. I mean, I don't know at what point or after which step we performed, but I am thinking my computer may be ok. However; I will wait to see what you think. I don't want to completely relax till you give the 'all systems go" LOL Just wanted to give you a bigger picture of what's happening on my end. For now, Redfeennix |

| The scan log you are posting shows that it was saved at 1:47:07 PM, on 10/14/2009 so you're not posting the actual current log. You need to overwrite previous logs or save it somewhere else. |

| I just did a scan with HJT at 2:11 today (Nov. 7, 2009); just now and instead of posting it because the scan saving time reflects the 14th just like the last one. I don't know why it has the date of the Oct 14th when I just scanned it now. Don't know what else to tell you, Cookiegal. Redfeennix |

| I just did a "print screen" of the HJT scan of 10 minutes ago hoping to use it as an attachment to this post, but it says that the print screen is 209 KB which is over the limit of 200 Kb for an attachment. I then saved it in paint as a JPEG and it was 292 KB. I guess all I can do is tell you that the file you want me to delete is NOT listed on the latest scan. |

| Please uninstall HijackThis via the Control Panel and then redownload it and do a new scan and then post the log. This worked for someone else that had a similar problem. |

| You're weclome. ![]() Here are some final instructions for you. Follow these steps to uninstall Combofix and all of its files and components.
Now you should turn system restore off to flush out all previous system restore points, then turn it back on and create a new restore point: Click on the Start button to open your Start Menu. Click on the Control Panel menu option. Click on the System and Maintenance menu option. Click on the System menu option. Click on System Protection in the left-hand task list. You will now be at the System Protection tab in the System control panel. Clear the check box next to the disk to turn off System Protection, and then click OK. This will flush out all previous restore points. Now select the check box next to the disk, and then click OK to turn system restore back on. Now create a new restore point. Click on the Create button. When you press this button a prompt will appear asking you to provide a title for this manual restore point. Type in a title for the manual restore point and press the Create button. Vista will now create a manual restore point, and when completed, display a notice saying that it was created successfully. I also recommend downloading SPYWAREBLASTER for added protection. Read here for info on how to tighten your security.
