Subject line is the gist of it; here is my best thorough analysis:

I have a recently purchased ASUS EEE Netbook with Windows XP. I do not use Explorer as a browser, but exclusively Chrome and Firefox. While perusing porn one day, I am pretty confident that I accidentally clicked an advertisement that led to multiple pop-ups that didn't want to be closed. Since then, I've encountered a fake virus scan program that has a blue background.

I thought I'd gotten rid of it with maybe Avira, or Counterspy, or whatever 10 other anti-spyware/virus programs I could download for free, as the blue screen of fake scanning quit appearing, but my Google search links all redirect me to odd sites. And then the fake virus scan encounter happened again when I was looking thru My Computer.

I consulted my real-life nerd friend, who recommended I post my HijackThis here. Here it is, in all its glory ... by the way, thank you so much in advance. I am on the verge of handing my money over to real-life nerds who aren't nearly as charitable as you.
