Adware problems + Log
Hello everyone,

I keep having a problem with an adware infection. Everytime I'm connected to internet and have my internet explorer or fire fox on I get random pop ups with different types of advertisement and sometimes it's x-rated which are inappropriet to view for my little sisters.

I run on Vaio VGN-F170P, Windows XP service pack 2
I do have an Ad-Aware program which runs all the times and keeps telling me I have malicious programs running, I run a scan remove the dll files and cookies which are bad, but everytime I keep having new cookies and new dll files which I have never heard of before.
I also run Karspersky 2010 which tells me I have viruses but it does not remove them or disinfect them, even after I run the removal with the restart and everything. Their names are gujofono.dll and wevusavi.dll

Here's my log from HiJackThis
Please tell me what I should do to remove those dll files and get rid of random pop ups.
Thanks so much in advance!

Hello and welcome to TSG Forums

My handle is juju68 and I will be assisting you in the removal of malware your computer may have.

Please follow these guidelines as we work to clean your computer.
  • Read through the instructions before you perform them and if you have questions please ask before you perform them. Please do not guess. I will be happy to clarify or explain.
  • Perform all instructions in the order given.
  • Stick with the process until I give you an "all clean." If the symptoms are gone, it does not necessarily mean your computer is safe and secure.
  • Do not run any other tools to remove malware while we are working.
  • Post all responses in a reply to this topic - Please do not start a new topic.
  • If your security software throws up warnings about some of these tools, please allow these tools to run, they are safe.
NOTE: I am in training at Malware Removal University. I must get my replies to you approved by a malware expert which means it could take slightly longer to get back to you.
Your patience is appreciated.

Installed Program List

I would be helpful to see a list of programs installed on your computer.
  • Please start Hijackthis
  • Click the Open the Misc Tools section button
  • Click the Open Uninstall Manager... under System Tools
You will see a list of programs installed on your computer.
Please click the Save List... button and specify where you would like to save the list.
Once you click Save, the list will open in Notepad. Simply copy and paste the entire contents of Notepad in your next post along with a new HijackThis log.

Hello Benazirka,

Apologies for the delay.

Scan with GMER

Please download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here.
  • Double click the .exe file. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO

    [
Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ...
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button and wait for it to finish
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and post it in reply
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

Note: Do not run any programs while Gmer is running.

Scan with RSIT

  • Click here to download Random's System Information Tool by random/random and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click RSIT.exe to run the tool
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it finishes, two logs will open...
    • log.txt will be opened maximized
    • info.txt will be opened minimized
  • Please post the contents of both logs in your next post.

In your next reply, please include gmer.txt, log.txt and info.txt.
