HELP! Tried to remove Virtumonde with Spybot Search and Destroy and now I cant reboot
Hello. I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition on a store bought media center HP computer. Yesterday, "Spybot" started going crazy telling me a lot of stuff was being changed and asking if I would like to keep these changes. I immediately thought well its a virus and kept denying the changes. I started to get popups even though I denied the changes.

I went to open Malwarebytes anti malware only to discover it had been deleted, presumably by the virus. I opened up spybot and did a scan and it found the files I am sure are responsible. I clicked "fix selected problems" and it did. It told me to restart as usual. I was wary of restarting because I didnt want my computer to get completely taken over by this virus.

Well, I restarted. First, when I went to reboot, it would get stuck in a cycle. It would get past the XP logo page, and start the restart from the beginning. I hit f10 to open the HP Recovery Console in the beginning. It backed up all of my files and settings or whatever it does, and told me it would be open upon restart. I restarted it again, and yes, it does open, but the mouse and keyboard do not work so I have no control.

I thought, well, lets try opening in safe mode, so I did. It loads. It puts the bars that say "safe mode" on every corner. However, I get this error message that says "not completely installed, rerun setup" I cant remember if thats how it was worded exactly but it said something like that.

So here I am, freaking out. This has given me horrible anxiety as I have never experienced anything like this before. I need to know if this can be fixed, whether with or without file loss.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I realized why my mouse wasnt working at the recovery thing, because it is a USB mouse. I got a different mouse and I guess Im just going to recover, even though I will lose all of my data....
