Exclamation Help with Malware; URGENT
I'm having the same sort of trouble many others have had.

I get constant redirecting from Google Searches, and one link in my bookmarks is also redirected.
These redirects are to certain IP addresses and websites like Toseeka.

The link has never been redirected before, just pointing that out.
Running Windows XP, on an HP Pavilion Slimline.
I'm not sure what other information is needed, of course I will provide it as requested.

The following is a HJT log from just a few minutes ago:

Hello there Welcome to the TSG Forums. Sorry for the delay
My name is NeonFx. I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. Logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me.

Please note the following:
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clean. Absence of symptoms does not necessarily mean that the system is completely clean.
  • It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference. I may ask you to boot into Safe Mode where you will be unable to follow my instructions online.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

Step 1

Download OTS to your Desktop

  • Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
  • Double-click on OTS.exe to start the program.
  • Check the box that says Scan All Users
  • Under Additional Scans check the following:
    • Reg - Desktop Components
    • Reg - Disabled MS Config Items
    • Reg - NetSvcs
    • Reg - Shell Spawning
    • Reg - Uninstall List
    • File - Lop Check
    • File - Purity Scan
    • Evnt - EvtViewer (last 10)

  • Please copy the following into the Custom Scans box at the bottom

Code:
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\eventlog.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\scecli.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\netlogon.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\cngaudit.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\sceclt.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\ntelogon.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\logevent.dll /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\iaStor.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\nvstor.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\atapi.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\si3112.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\IdeChnDr.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\viasraid.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\AGP440.sys /s /md5
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\vaxscsi.sys /s /md5
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.

Please attach the log in your next post. To do so click on the blue "Reply" button or "Go Advanced" and click on the "Manage Attachments" button

To ensure that I get all the information this log will need to be attached. If it is too large to attach then upload it to Dropio and post the sharing link/url (The Drop's URL will be similar to : http:://drop.io/daerk)

Step 2

Download SysProt Antirootkit from the link below (you will find it at the bottom of the page under attachments, or you can get it from one of the mirrors).

http://sites.google.com/site/sysprotantirootkit/

Unzip it into a folder on your desktop.

Start the Sysprot.exe program.

  • Click on the Log tab.
  • In the Write to log box select All items.
  • Place a checkmark next to Hidden Objects Only
  • Click on the Create Log button on the bottom right.
  • After a few seconds a new Window should appear.
  • Make sure Scan all drives is selected and click on the Start button.
(Unless you have a floppy drive. In this case, please use "Scan Root Drive Only" and press Start)
  • When it is complete a new Window will appear to indicate that the scan is finished.
  • The log will be created and saved automatically in the same folder. Open the text file and copy/paste the log here.

No need for an apology, better 1 response than none.
OTS log is attached, the SysProt AnitRootKit log exceeded the limit.
The Dropio link for the SysProt log is http://drop.io/lord_iv.

Everything went normal for OTS, but when SysPro AntiRootKit had finished scanning, I received an error message stating that I needed to insert a disc into a certain drive. I hope this isn't a huge problem, as I was prompted by the log just after clicking "Cancel".

Alright. I can see what's causing the problems. Please do the following:

Note: Disabling any security programs you have running will significantly increase the chances of the following working as it should. Please disable AntiViruses, AntiSpywares and Firewalls before continuing on with my instructions. For instructions, if needed, see HERE or HERE

Download Combofix from any of the links below but rename the file to Lord_IV before saving it to your desktop.

To do so in Internet Explorer right click one of the links and select "Save Target As.." from the options. This will open a Save box where you should navigate to your Desktop and change the name in the textbox on the bottom.
To get the same box in Firefox right click one of these links and select "Save Link As.." from the menu.

Link 1
Link 2

==================================

Double click on the Lord_IV.exe & follow the prompts.

  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • If you are asked to allow ComboFix to download and install the Recovery Console or have it update, let it do so.
  • Please post the results that are saved at C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply

A window informing me that I couldn't rename the ComboFix executable to Lord_IV.exe appeared, I downloaded anyway and ran it.
After a while, a message stated that in order for ComboFix to complete it's task, I needed to restart my computer. It also included a list of files and there locations to write down.
Everything in that list was located in windows\system32\drivers\, excluding one that was at windows\system32\.

My computer restarted, and ComboFix appeared again, deleting selected files in a long list. Some of the names of the files were "NotaVirus" and "Tro_jam". I found it a little humorous.
When finished, I didn't receive a log, but after looking in C:\ComboFix, I found a .txt labeled "Combofix.txt". I've uploaded it.

The redirecting has stopped, and while I realize that no sign of symptoms doesn't mean the process is complete, I'm still a little satisfied.
Now I'm wondering, do I need to run ComboFix again, or is the log the one you need?

Yes, could you run it again for me? That didn't give me anything. It should run much smoother this time.

I apologize for not being as punctual as before, I was in preparation for the upcoming holiday.
Attached is the log, along with the requested file.
Everything did go much more smoothly.

Edit: Happy Thanksgiving

The Add-Remove.txt is now included.

I'm so sorry I didn't notice. I only get notified of topics that have replies. Could you run ComboFix.exe again for me. I want to make sure nothing changed.
