Hello,

I have been trying for a few hours now to remove Personal Guard 2009 from my computer. I have been searching the net for tried and true removal tools and it looks like nothing has worked.

I'm on a Dell Dimension 8400 with an Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz with 2.5GB of RAM, running Windows XP Home Edition, SP 3, Version 2002. This computer was runnig great and has never had any viruses before, at least that I know of.

I came across the TSG forum thread between Willison_b and muppy03 and it looks like they're getting somewhere. Just like Willison_b, I have downloaded and ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware as well as SuperAntiSpyware. Both programs detected Personal Guard 2009 and tried to quarantine and remove the files, but Personal Guard still pops up upon startup. I downloaded Spyware Doctor and ran a scan, but it prompted me to purchase the software before it tried to make any fixes. I did NOT go through with the purchase and removal due to the fact that the other 2 programs did not work.

I have also tried to go in and manually delete files based off of help from a few sites. I was sure to only delete files with "Personal Guard" in the name. This has also not worked.

I get the message "Windows Security Center is reporting that Personal Guard 2009 is inactive", however it still installs a desktop logo and pops up every time I startup.

Any and all help is very much appreciated!
