Hi,
I have a Dell inspiron laptop, 2005 model. It has 512 ram and XP-pro SP3 OS. It was running fine till about three months ago. Before I was having an old kaspersky antivirus which I uninstalled and added Mcaffee sicurity center as well as VSE8.7i. I found that there were a few malware infections during this period and so I installed and used malwarebytes to clean some of them. As of now, Mcaffee shows that system is clean. malwarebytes also shows that the system is clean. But the system is slowed extensively. If I open task manager and look at system resources, it shows memory in use as 737 MB where as my ram is only 512. This is also when I am not running any memory heavy applications (except Mcaffee but it does not take more than 50-60 MB).
As suggested, I have downloaded and installed HJT and ran a scan. I am posting the log here. I would appreciate if you can take a look at it and help me understand what may be causing the massive slowdown I am experiencing.
