Inability to get autoupdates
Earlier in the year, my girlfriend had a virus alert whilst accessing Facebook. She apparently managed to remove it using AVG 8.0 Free. Since that date, her PC will not do the following:

Windows Updates - this will not run automatically or if manually instigated. Returns the error code 80072EFD

Windows Defender - will not run automatically (returns the same error code as Windows Updates). Can however access the Defender website and download the latest signatures.

Belarc Advisor will is unable to check for latest updates.

AVG 9.0 Free will only update if forced, auto updates do not appear to be working.

Windows OneCare will not download and run.

I have scanned the PC with the following, all with no errors:

AVG 9.0 Free
Spybot Search & Destroy
Windows Defender
TM Housecall
TM CWShredder
TM Rootkit Buster
TM RUBotted

Running Windows Vista Home Basic SP2
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Laptop
Intel processor T1400 @ 1.73GHz
1GB Ram
32 Bit operating system.

I have attached HijackThis StartupList & Scan Report. Would very much appreciate it there appear to be any pointers in the attached.
