Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

Apparently there is a new anti-Google virus making the rounds. You don't think that Microsoft would ... . Nah! Banish that thought.

You should uninstall the ALOT Toolbar Helper. It's adware.

The Viewpoint Toolbar is suspicious too.

You might want to consider uninstalling all your outdated versions of Java and getting yourself the latest Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0_17.

I would also highly recommend an upgrade from IE6 to IE7, for security reasons and a lot more interesting features.

thanks phantom010 getting rid of those 2 toolbars helped, we can now get on other search engines even if they are powered by google buit we still can't get on google, but now instead of comming up with link cannot be connected it just comes up as page cannot be displayed and to use connection check, that says every thing is ok do you think updating java and going to IE-7 would fix that?

Look in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts for any suspicious "google" entries. If you have any, delete them. If they come back it means you have a virus.

None are showing in HijackThis. No 01 entry. They usually show.

Have you tried refreshing your DNS?

Click on Start > Run > type CMD

In the command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns

Reboot.
