Question Firefox hijacked, Google search trapped, random pop-up pages
I seem to have picked up a Firefox hijacker from somewhere. And I am usually very careful. :-(

Symptoms:
-- Random page loads of ad sites, often malware sites (according to AVG) - about once per hour
-- Clicking on Google search results usually takes one to some other search site or ad site
-- Nothing detected by AVG (scan or live), Spybot S&D (scan), Ad-Aware (live or scan), Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, or WinPatrol

I uninstalled Firefox with Revo Uninstaller (advanced mode), rebooted, and re-installed Firefox to no avail.

HijackThis log is below.

Thanks.

Angry Update (May or may not be related)
When I opened the laptop this morning, there was the standard Microsoft message box saying that a there had been a problem; did I want to send a report. I clicked "Send" and it appeared to be successful. I think clicked the "more info" link, but when Firefox came up and tried to connect, the connection was reset --even on refreshing. I exited Firefox and found a new message box saying that the system needed to be shut down; the DCOM service was not available (or had crashed, I can't remember exactly). [I know -- I should have copied it down.]

Upon system restart, the encryption key to the wireless router had apparently been lost, and I was asked to re-enter it. On the off chance that this was part of the infection, I did not. The laptop has now been retired from service until I can uninfect it. I am doing all my surfing on our wired desktop computer.

I hope this helps someone figure it out.

Thanks.

Talking Figured it out
By doing research in this forum and others, I figured out that I had a TDSS variant. I successfully used TDSS Cleaner to eliminate it. As far as I can tell, that was the only bad guy on my PC.
