My previous post tells you how to uninstall combofix

keep malwarebytes and keep it updated and run regular scans with it

if you haven't installed & run them, just delete them. If nor=t installedm they do absolutely nothing

If they have been installed, then use add/remove programs in control panel to uninstall them, whicj is exactly what I said to do in post 33

dvk01:

I received a private message from lost930. He's referring to the 4 programs in post #6 that I advised him to download and save and not install yet.

Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0.18

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.44

SUPERAntiSpyware 4.33.0.1000

AVG Free Edition 9.0

----------------------------------------------------------------

lost930:

You didn't advise dvk01 in post #32 what programs you're referring to. Just keep them saved for now until dvk01 is finished with you.

dvk01:

Thanks for the "all clear".

lost930:

Close all open windows first, then start HijackThis and run a scan, then post a new log here.

I'm going to visit my family for a few hours, so I'll get back to your thread this afternoon.

"He" is just a figure of speech - if I don't know if the threadstarter is male or female.

---------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like you've already installed AVG9 to replace AVG8.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Go into Add Or Remove Programs and uninstall Java 5 Update 1(1.5.0.01) and all other older versions that may still be present.

Go into the C:\Program Files\Java folder and delete all leftover folders that may still be present.

Install Java 6 Update 18(1.6.0.18)) and decline to install any extra crap it wants to install - unless you want it.

Restart your computer.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Are you using iTunes in conjunction with an iPod or some other external device?

What peripherals(printer, scanner, all-in-one, camera, webcam, external hard drive, etc.) are connected to and used with that computer?

It appears that you have HP printer software installed for a HP printer/scanner/all-in-one. Are you still using one or have you gotten rid of it?

It appears that you have Acronis True Image installed. Most everyone I know only uses it in conjunction with an external USB hard drive to clone an image of their hard drive on a regular basis. Are you using this program in conjunction with an external USB hard drive?

Let me know when you've uninstalled the old version(s) of java and have installed the new version.
