Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [24764326] C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\APPLIC~1\24764326\24764326.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".



Please download OTM by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTM.exe to run it.
  • Copy all the lines in the quote box below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

You have no anti-virus software running. I suggest you download and install Microsoft Security Essentials


Post the OTM log and a new HJT log when you are ready.

It is not allowing me to run the HJT again...there is an error that says it is infected with lsas.blaster.keyloger. when I try to open it I can't get past the error.

Let's try something different.


Download OTS.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTS on your desktop.
  1. Close any open browsers.
  2. If your Real protection or Antivirus intervenes with OTS, allow it to run.
  3. Open the OTS folder and double-click on OTS.exe to start the program.
  4. In Additional Scans section put a check in Disabled MS Config Items, Uninstall List and EventViewer logs
  5. Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  6. The program will be scanning huge amounts of data so depending on your system it could take a long time to complete. Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  7. When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  8. Save that notepad file
Use the Reply button, scroll down to the attachments section and attach the notepad file here.

NOTE: The only people who can see attachments in the HJT forum are: the thread starter, Admins & Mods, and HJT Helpers & Trainees.

I got some other info from another blog which allowed me to stop the processing of security tool so I could run the suggestions above...which worked!!! still no desktop but I am sending this anyway. I still have the icon on my taskbar so I don't trust that it is gone! I am going to run your next suggestion also? Thank you so much for your help!!!

Its gone!!
I ran the OTS as I posted. I then downloaded the Microsoft Security essentials. after downloading it had me restart...icons are gone and desktop is back !! : ) Thank you sooo much. any other suggestions will be gladly accepted! : )

As for the OTS log, first note is you need more ram! 256 is bare bones!



You should trim down your start-ups as there are too many running.
Click Start - Run, type in MSCONFIG, then click OK - "Startup" tab. Remove the checkmark from:


QuickTime Task: QTTask.exe
SunJavaUpdateSched: jusched.exe
NeroFilterCheck: NeroCheck.exe
Adobe Reader Speed Launcher: Reader_sl.exe
Adobe ARM: AdobeARM.exe

Click Apply - OK afterwards, then reboot. When the SCU (System Configuration Utility) window appears during reboot, ignore the message. Place a checkmark in the window, then click OK.


Ad-Aware 2007 is pretty old. I suggest upgrading that to the current version or removing it.


Go to add/remove programs and remove:
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6


In your error log I've noted:
Description = The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume C:.
If you don't know how to run chkdsk you can look here: http://www.microsoft.com/AtWork/getstarted/speed.mspx



Start OTS. Copy/Paste the information in the Code box below into the pane where it says Paste fix here and then click the Run Fix button.

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix.
Post that information back here.



Part of the OTS log was corrupt. Not sure how that happened but you may want to run a new one once you have worked through all of this.


I also suggest getting a backup in place incase of hard drive failure.
