Unhappy "Trojan.Gen" Manual Removal?
We have a problem with our computer. We have Windows XP operating system, and three Scans that we try to run weekly. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Norton AntiVirus, and Spybot Search and Destroy. And we find that this combination is pretty effective. If one misses something, one of the others detects it and we are able to remove it with relative ease.

This time, however, we seem to have a problem. We have a Norton Window that we have never seen before. It provides no program or file details and offers no options to remove or repair the problem. It is simply there, telling us that we have a problem and it's name is "Trojan.Gen".

We went to the Symantic Website that Norton provided for us, but it is virtually useless. It just gives step by step instructions on how to do what we have already done. Malwarebytes found nothing wrong, and I shudder to think of how long it would take Spybot to scan, especially since we would rather not close out of any of the windows that may provide insight into the problem, should we need it.

I've googled my brains out trying to find how to remove the dratted thing manually, and even did a complete system search to find the file named "Trojan.Gen", hoping that a simple drag and drop into the recycle bin would do the trick. The information I recieved from googling the problem was pretty much useless as well. I have no desire to download ANYTHING, especially given the current problem. Searching my computer was nothing more than a waste of time.

This problem has been going on for the past few days, and we cannot see any end in sight. We are beginning to resign ourselves to taking it back to the shop (which we suspect has added malicious programming of their own to ensure our future business).

We also want to avoid system restore at all costs. We have things on this computer that cannot be replaced or found on the net. We had not yet had the time to back up most of the files that are precious to us.

How can I remove this thing manually without using safemode or rebooting, or dowloading more antivirus stuff?

Can someone please help me? I am not really good with computers, and this problem really needs to be fixed. Any help at all, as fast as possible, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
