Requesting Service.
We need someone who can design us a gaming ladder website. What we need is something closely related to this type of formatted website. It works on its own. I will leave couple links to show what kind of format for the site were lookin for, and also if you could respond with some price quotes that would be great. Thank-you

http://www.socomzone.com

http://www.gamebattles.com

http://www.socomnet.com

Just to get an idea. We would like the coding be more like socomzone.com, but we are unsure, but the page layout be like socomnet.com. We are lookin for price quotes.

Do you mean you want a forum? If so theres plenty of places to get those without having them designed, although i dunno where you can get that first one.

The first link is written in Flash and looks pretty extensive to me. You are looking at a few thousand worth of graphics alone. The Flash content on that site is pretty extensive as well. The socomnet page nas basically no content, just a background image and a link. The gamebattles page would cost you about half of what the first site would run you since it is pretty static minus the small Flash deal in the middle. Too bad they ripped off some of the graphics froma Photoshop tutorial page....slackers!!

Just graphics will run a bit alone.
Same with the scripts. Not that they're particularly complex. It seems like they are about 1/8 of a forum, but 5 times the number of scripts.

The prive can vary greatly depending on what exactly you need. I don't think someone will give a rate up-front, only knowing what sort of thing they will be doing (that's almost entirely irrelevent actually). There are a lot of features on those sites (many of which are just bloat -- it makes it look like there's more content), what specifically is needed?

Hey there. I just very randomly saw this post, and happen to be the owner/creator of socomzone.com.

The ladder scripts themselves were originally from Lurkem Web. Some mods came from Darkmoon Internet who specializes in enhancements. After that, for our site at least, several mods were made by us to create a unique tourney (no one else runs our setup).

Anyways, I would suggest checking with Darkmoon Internet because they can setup already modified ladder scripts for you. Unless you are proficient in PHP or a related scripting language, you will not be able to create these yourself. You can however learn a lot from them if you have a basic understanding of even HTML.

The message board I use is PhPBB (with custom templates I designed around my theme) and it is free. You will just need a webhost that supports it (and your traffic) and that can also run MySQL scripts. You will need at least one database for your forums (if you want them) and one for your ladder.

Graphics...well I suggest you crack open a can of Photoshop and start learning. That or look for some friends that know how to use it. You are gonna also need some HTML skills and PHP skills. The ladders I got were nowhere near ready to work out of the box. They needed a lot of fixes and I experimented with them a lot to get the result I wanted.

Flash...again just like Photoshop. I'll just caution you not to overuse it, and in any case you should probably start designing static interfaces with HTML and photoshop before getting into the rest.

Good luck, it's a constant work in progress and you really need to learn the skills yourself if you want the site to be successful with minimal costs...that and be nice to the people who visit . Not sure of your knowledge but I'd start with HTML and Photoshop and work up from there. Although much of it "works on it's own", it's won't stay live without care.

hmmmmm,,,, no one else runs YOUR setup,,,LMAO with a cocky response like that i should take your ladder and recode it for their site just for the fun of it,,,,,,it's not that difficult to do,,,even for a noob like yourself,,,very simple site if i say so myself,,,,,,,,you really shouldn't brag about your achievements with so little work put into socomzone.com,,,ladder scripts are very simple to make.and even easier to take from others sites,,,,,

Maybe you should learn how that quote code works before messing with other peoples code?
