Unhappy Have people download files from your website? How? Where?
I am an intermediate at html (I can do simple stuff like marquees and such) and I have a question. When you go to download a file off of someones website you have that IE download screen come up which is usualy .zip or .exe. I have been looking for a server that holds those files so when someone clicks the link that same IE download screen comes up. I tried Comcast Personal Webpages (PWP) and put my files in .zip folders on my Personal FTP space, I added a link pointing to that location and nothing worked! Is there anyone who knows of a free server or web hosting service that can help me with this?

Theres nothing special about those files, a link to them should work fine on any webhost. What code did you use for the link.

I know its just a rant, but marquees suck. They're annoying.

?
Thanks for the tip.

I didn't use any special code but the link to the file itself if that makes sense. I get that page cannot be displayed message. I put the file on an FTP server but if that's the problem how can I put it on HTTP???

Simpler Message-

It's not working!

I don't think it matters if its on an FTP server, although it wouldn't hurt to try an HTTP. Comcasts web-based file uploader should let you upload ZIP and EXE files. Just to verify, you used a normal link, something like this
<a href="ftp://blah.com/blah.zip">blah</a>

The <a> tag is for creating a link in HTML.
