Exclamation How do i host a web page on my intranet
How do i host my web page on my faculty intranet for others to view. I want them to use a www.name.com to access it from other points in the faculty .

YOu need a server that can host it as well as a local DNS server to resolve the IP adderss to the name you want.

Hosting a local intranet
I host an intranet, and it is not addressed as http://www.........
WWW stands for world wide web, and you say this is internal, therefore, you could use the internal ip address or the server name, hence say your server name was server450, you would address it as http://server450. If your server was a member of a domain, it would be http://server450.yourdomain.org or com or whatever.
Of course if you have IIS then you must have a file called default.asp in your root directory.

If you run your own web server you can assign anything as a host header, it does not have to be www not even on the internet.
