why other computers not under the same router can't see my web page
I have a XP pro system, I installed IIS 5.1. I put the index.htm file under wwwroot folder when I type http://localhost/index.htm, it works fine. I tried http://myIPaddress/index.htm on another computer under the same router, it works fine too. However, I phone a frident to ask him try http://myIPaddress/index.htm, this page can't shows up, and says "page not found". I don't know what is wrong, is that because of the router firewall? If it is how can I fix it.

Best regards

Because your IP address on your local PC is a private IP address. You will need to do some port forwarding to point all HTTP requests from the outside (public Internet) to your private internal IP address.

You didn't look too far or hard on the internet. Go to SMC's web site and download the manual or use the one that came with the router.

http://www.smc.com/drivers_downloads...004VBR_MN2.pdf

On 6.2.4 there is the simple config for NAT(port forwarding). Enter the IP address of your PC running the web server, the port(80) and TCP is the protocol. For anyone to connect from the Internet they need the WAN IP address of your router. The WAN Address should be in the router config pages as well.
