Smile Setting up webserver
Hello,

I am setting up a little webserver just using my computer for the minute, for a few of my personal webpages. I am somehwhat n00by with this so bare with me. I have so far, installed php, apache and mySQL, and that's all running fine (I installed phpBB to check and thats working well).

At the moment I access it through http://localhost.

How would I connect/access these pages via the internet. What settings do I have to change etc.?

Thanks for any help,

David.

Home Web
It can be done, but your cable company would not like it as you would be breaking policy so I don't think anyone is going to tell you how to do it.

I thought it would be too, but I specifically rang them about this, and they said that it was ok.

Anyhoo, I figured out how.

Thanks anyway.

Web Server
How weird! I was hosting 5 websites at home and my cable company had a fit! They said it was strictly against policy and to stop it immediately, I have Charter.net. That's great that your company allows it

Not all ISP's care what you do with the bandwidth you pay for. Reading the TOS is always a good idea before signing up.
