building a CSS
Hey all,

I originally built my site using a css template, but wanted to know if I can add to it, kind of. You may have to visit my site to know what I want.
Here's what I'm looking for:
I have made the leftnav, rightnav, main section, and top banner with Div tags. But the only way I found to keep the right, left and banner on each page was just to copy the page and redo the main section for all my other pages. This becomes a hassle when 1 thing changes on one of those bars, I then have to spend hours fixing all the pages to match.
Can I incorporate the left, right and top Div tags into CSS? How do I do that?
Or am I asking too much?
Thanks,
Pave

You can reference an external CSS on your site for your pages so all you need to do is change the content of the external file instead of editing every page. This is the main concept behind CSS. You can make one easily enough from the pages you currently have. Copy the styles from one page and paste it into a new page and save as something like pave.css

Inyour main pages you can reference the external CSS by adding this between the HEAD tags of your pages.

<link href="pave.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

I don't think I was all that clear in my question.....(I'm still new).

I want to have the text and the links, pics, etc that are in left and right nav bars, as well as have the banner, all on CSS. Can I do that? I don't want just the style of the text.

Just making sure that I'm clear so you (others) know exactly what it is that I want.

i.e. can the Div Id with all the links, and pics in it, be put on a CSS or is CSS only for formatting?

Thanks, and sorry if there is any confusion.

Pave

If you are doing it now on in-page CSS you can do it in an external CSS file. I'll look at your site and give you an example to try.

It looks like you are using both types of styles, ones in the page and ones outside in a 3col_leftNav.css
