Personal web site: Contact info???
Hello, I am creating a personal web site to display my portfolio of art work and animation videos.

My question is, should my "contact button" just open up a email program to allow potential employers to contact me or should I create a new web page that displays my Phone number and email address and let potential employers choose.

I've seen alot of personal web sites by other independent artists and they seem to open up an email program in order for the viewer to contact them...no phone numbers.

Is this a big deal?
Should I be concerned about displaying my phone number over the internet?

Personally...I would never put my phone number on a webpage unless you own a business and it's the business number.

As for an email link...I like prefer not to open an email client. Something like this would do:

myname<image of the @ symbol>.com

Using the image for the @ symbol should keep spiders from grabbing your email address and adding it to spam email lists. If a person is really interested in your stuff I'm sure they can open their own email client and type in your address...but you never know.
