Blocked Port? or Right address?
Hey, I am Hosting from my computer using Sambar Server, When I type this address in my browser, http://192.168.1.100 My Page comes up, But When Im at a different computer, "page cannot be displayed" Im thinkin thats because of loop IP Lan. I tryed Port Dectective, and found port 80 to be blocked, even though i disabled my firewall, and opened up port 80 on my router, I checked with my ISP, and they have port 80 open too.

But When im go on Dialup, port dective says 80 is open, Although this address ( http://192.168.1.100 ) dont even work then, on on any computer except mine.

Would this address be even be the right address? http://192.168.1.100

Windows XP, Ram 256, 1.1 ghz

Thanks for your Repy, Ben

192.168.1.100 is your internal LAN address. To access from outside your netowrk, you need to use your external IP from your ISP. You'll also need to configure your router to forward all traffic to port 80 to 192.168.1.100.

Also, it is possible that your ISP does not allow hosting of any kind of servers. Some will simply deactivate your account or give you a warning if they find out and others actively prevent it. You'll need to check the agreement/contract that you signed with them.

My ISP does allow an open port on 80. How do I find what my External IP is?

You can determine your IP addy by downloading a IP displayer, get one here for free.

Even though your ISP allows connections through port 80, it does not neccessarily mean they allow you to run a server. You should check out their rules to be safe.

Ok thanks for all your help so far, here is what i got,

Im on wireless internet connection, http://172.16.6.12 (WAN IP) shows my page running on my computer, but any other computer, says "page connot be displayed" I think my firewall is disabled. I tryed Port Dectective, and found port 80 to be blocked, so i disconeted from my wireless internet, and connected through Dialup, Port dective, said Port 80 was open. so I checked my External Ip address in the broswer bar in a different computer, and it still says "Page Connot be displayed",

This has been bugging me for days, any more Ideas?

Like Angel said, have you told your router to forward port 80 requests to your 192.168.1.100 box?
