pics won't load
New to web building, using microsoft word and just saving as a web page. When I load the page (using ftp) I see the box where the pics should be but they don't load. Any help? Please be specific and use simple language.

Thanks.

lets assume you saved the page as
fred.htm
into a directory called MyWebPage
then you will have a subdirectory under MyWebPage called
fred_files

If you aren't confident in you'r web design skills yet, it's best to upload the images to the same file you uploaded your page to, that way, you don't have to write a file path for the <img /> tag, just the file name.

in word it will refer to a folder - so the main page will need to be edited to do as above post suggests

Oh, using word, I've never used word before to make anything web related, so you should listen to etaf.

no problem php_guy

just insert a picture into a word document - then save as webpage - or save as html - depending on version

and you will see the picture goes into a subdirectory called
Quote:
WhatEverYouNameTheWordDoc_files
but as with all MS stuff for the web along with loads of unnecessary coding
