you haven't told us what the size of your video, but anyway i suggest using windows media video insted of quicktime if you want to stream it, and if you want only people to download it then i'll suggest you encode it with divx (www.divx.com), for the stream you need an hosting site that support's streams, i dont know if there are such kind that are free, but i'll suggest you to search a bit to find out....if by any chance (probably not...) your video is related to european basketball then i'll be happy to host it on my site... (http://www.24sec.net).

I hope i helped a bit

The Darwin Streaming Server for Quicktime is free:

http://developer.apple.com/darwin/projects/streaming/

Here is a comparison of a web server and a streaming server:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...treamserv.aspx

There are really no special requiremants for streaming compared to ordinary downloads, so all you need do is to make the video available for download from your computer in streaming format. You can get the Windows Media Streaming Encoder free:

I ment the size of the movie on pixles, for exemple width=320px, height=240px,
Anyway i suggest you wont use your own pc as a server cause it's not that safe and you need to keep your pc running and connected to the internet as long that you want people to download your movie.
(but if you want to do it....you can make your own http server on your pc quite easy if you have WinXp...but i'll suggest you wont do this....if you still want to do it then ask me and i'll tell you how...)

BTW like Elvandil wrote i dont really think that you need a streaming server or something when you usind windows media...so just encode your movie as wmv and put it on your site, you can use that annoying program of microsoft called "Windows Movie Maker", you probably can find it on the
Start menu>Accesories>Windows Movie Maker if your using win98 and higher (what i hope you are )

Install WinXp, go to control panel>add or remove programs>add remove windows components, mark the checkbox of "internet information services(IIS)" , make sure everything is marked inside of it by double clicking it and then click "next" and install it.

then everything you put in your www root directory that you will configure (by deafult i think it's c:\Inetpub\wwwroot) will be able to view from the web by:
http://your ip address/the name of the file

Make sure that you dont have firewall or you connected via a firewall router/hub cause it can couse problem (make sure that the WinXp firewall is disabled also)...

i dont know why, maybe it's really bacause it's winxp home...
you can put it where ever you want, when you install it it i think it should ask you where you want it to be, the c:\inetpub\ is only the deafualt one...
