Question Solved: Flash question
Ok, well how can i shape tween and motion tween an object at the same time, as in make a ball move over a motion guide following orientation, as in bouncing, but shape tweening also making the same ball change lotsa colours and kinda-sorta mutate.
Is that possible, b/c i know one uses symbols the other does not.
Am i missing something???

PS in the future i may post other flash related questions here as well.

Thanx in advance.

I've got this problem too - I'm trying to get one movie clip to animate as a symbol instance, which I can then move around/ shrink/ expand it to get other effects. I can get the first clip to animate on its own but when I make it into a symbol, and put an instance of it in a scene, it won't play its anim. Using flash mx 2004 educational

Yah. I agree. One must be symbol, the other broken apart. But i want an expanding and transforming blob moving across the screen in a set path. Well, i will see if i can find a way.
If anyone reads this and knows, please help.

Fixed.
I talked to somebody.
You have to make a start image, convert it to a symbol (movie clip). Each movie clip symbol has its own timeline, so you double click the object, which brings the object editor up. You can begin your shape tweens (or more motion tweens to make a neat effect). Then you go back to the normal timeline, and create a motion tween for that object. That way you have the movie clip playing and moving across the screen.
