can I change url address
I am working with powerpoint building a new website and using frontpage to transfer this website to the internet when I publish this site the url for the different pages comes up with slide numbers example:
tqfiberglass.com/HOME-PAGE_files/slide0002.html
is there anyway to modify this address to remove files and slide numbers or is it not a problem and I should forget about it all together. I am just a beginner and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time to anyone that can help.

I look at other websites and I do not see anything other than the site I am looking at and the page I do not see slide and page numbers in these addresses. My work does all of their updates and changes using the same programs that I use (powerpoint and frontpage) but in their url addresses i do not see slide numbers and and files. Am I doing something wrong? I feel the url should look like this ex.:tqfiberglass.com/HOME-PAGE not like this
ex.:tqfiberglass.com/HOME-PAGE_files/slide0002.html. Am I wrong for thinking this way?

If that is your main home page then you must rename it from slide0002.html to index.html then it will read that as the home page and go right to it from this link: tqfiberglass.com/HOME-PAGE

hope this works. If not post again.

Darkslide if you go to the website I am working on and look at the url addresses maybe you will have a better understanding of what I am trying to do. I appreciate your help and any suggestions would help the idex thing worked for my enter page but after that the other pages still read file and slide numbers which I would like to get rid of. tqfiberglass.com

I think what he is try'n to figure out is for example...

tqfiberglass.com

he wants it so that no matter what in the address bar you see tqfiberglass.com, at least thats what I gather out of it.

Without use'n some sort of Java script, the only way that I know of personally would be to use Frames in the page, but other then that, when you go from page to page, it is going to HAVE to change the url, as it is directing to a new page... someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I know that the page name will change but it seems that I have way to much info on the addresses as the different pages come up ex.
mhtml:http://www.tqfiberglass.com/PRODUCTS-PAGE.mht!PRODUCTS- PAGE_files/slide0003.htm this is what all comes up on this particular page I guess my quastions are can I change this and?or do I have to?

Well what you do is...

Your "main" page rename it index.htm.

So when you go to http://www.tqfiberglass.com you get your "main" page.

On your site, rename the HOME-PAGE.html to something like main.htm. So when you click it from http://www.tqfiberglass.com it just names it http://www.tqfiberglass.com/main.html.

Then with your slideshow.. just make a folder called slideshow and have then named what ever you want... i.e.

http://www.tqfiberglass.com/slideshow/01.html
http://www.tqfiberglass.com/slideshow/02.html

or how ever you want to do it..

Its pretty much the same, I mean the size.. just looks a bit better then
http://www.tqfiberglass.com/HOME-PAG...slide0002.html

and I guess all you would have to do is rename HOME-PAGE_files to slideshow and rename slide0002.html to just 02.html

you may have to redo most of the links on the site if you do decide to change the way its laid out.
