addon domains etc
Im trying to add a domain to my current web-account.

I have properly setup IP and dns's, and my cpanel has added the domain.

I installed a copy of phpnuke into the new root directory that I setup for it.... but,

If I enter http://myNEWsite.com ---> its says There is no website configured at this address

If i enter http://myOLDsite.com/newSiteRoot/ ---> the page displays

I tried changing the redirect for the new domain to match the http://myOLDsite.com/newSiteRoot/ but it still gives the no website config'd message.

Also is there anyway so that when I go to http://myNEWsite.com that it still says myNEWsite in the browser? I mean why buy a new domain if its just gonna show http://myOLDsite.com/myNEWsite/ ???

Thanks for the help
G

I'm not really sure about what what you're asking but don't you need a redirect from OLD to NEW and not just point the OLD root to the NEW root (that would show OLD if I am not mistaken).

Yea, sorry I really don't the lingo here.

Right now here is what I have:

http://cathorge.com --> the original domain for this account
http://fuggins.com ---> this is the new domain
http://cathorge.com/fuggins/ --> where the new "site" is. When I went to install the php-nuke, it asked me if I wanted to install in the fuggins.com root directory.. which I did.

I want fuggins.com to show what I have installed in cathorge.com/fuggins/ without having to "show" cathorge.com in someone's webbrowser.

Maybe I'm a little off base as well, what I am thinking, for simplicities sake as I've not used phpnuke, is on your cathorge home.html page just put a script in there to make that redirect to your fuggins home.html. This I have done when moving from geocities, as people don't always update their favs, so if the went to that site, the index.html just moves them to my new site.

Good idea, but unforunately Cathorge.com is a site that will used in the near future.

From my understanding of Cpanel, and my account options available to me from my service provider.... I should be able to have up to 5 different domains contained within it.

G, does your host support .htaccess files?

If so, create a .htaccess file with the following code:
PHP Code:
RewriteEngine On
Options
+FollowSymlinks
RewriteBase
/

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOSTfuggins.com
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_URI} !fuggins/
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ fuggins/$[L
