Problem creating/accessing Web server
I am trying to set up a web server, and am running into some problems. I was hoping someone could help me out.

I have a box running 2000 server, and installed IIS. This machine is connected to the internet via an SBC dsl modem/router. I have set up Windows user accounts and added them in IIS.

The guide I have mentions pointing ports 21 and 80 to the router, but I'm not sure what that means.

When I go to IE and enter my IP address, I get the box where I enter my username, password and domain. I'm also not sure of the domain I should enter.

After entering username and password, I hit OK and get the following screen:

HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Type:
Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A0046)
Permission denied: 'GetObject'
/localstart.asp, line 19

Browser Type:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; yie6_SBC)

Page:
GET /localstart.asp

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

500 errors are generally security related. You do not have to enter a domain in the box to FTP to it. You do however have to enter the local user name and password you entered in Active Directory for the user trying to log in via FTP. I really don't like Windows FTP service and if I had a choice woulf use something like ServU or other more full featured FTP.
