Arrow Mozilla FireFox Problem (Viewing Website)
My website, RickKelly.com.au, has a drop-down navigation menu that works perfectly in Internet Explorer. It works without any problems in Mozilla FireFox as well, but it doesn't display properly.

If you visit the link above, and hover over the main buttons to activate the drop-down menu (using Mozilla FireFox), you will see that the width of the drop-down menu, and the padding, isn't correct.

Now, how can I fix this, or at least stop the links from lapping over each other how they are now?

If you get anywhere with this I'd be really interested as I'm having a similar problem. In Firefox, every image has a small amount of padding beneath it. I did find it disappeared when I changed the DOCTYPE from strict XHTML to transitional XHTML.
What is yours?

Mine is:

HTML Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
This really is a problem that is annoying me, as it's throwing out a lot of little problems on my site.

Oh, must be something else then. I think Firefox is really strict with the way it produces pages from your code, so if it isn't perfect then this happens. In IE I think you get away with a lot more.

Yeah, it seems that way.

I know that I can't get the website to look identical in both browsers, but it's not good enough in Mozilla FireFox at the moment, and I've seen the padding issues repaired on other websites, but am just not sure of how it's been done.

Have you used all of these?
In the html: <table cellspacing="0">
In the CSS:
body {margin-left:0; margin-right:0; margin-top:0; background-color: #ffffff}
table {padding: 0px; border-style: none; border-width: 1px; border-color: #4169e1;}
td {padding: 0px; padding-bottom:0px; border-style: none; border-width: 1px; border-color: #800000;}
img {border-style: none; border-width: 1px}
I have a site using all these things and it works fine in Firefox.

I keep the "border-width:1px" because then if I quickly change the "border-style:" to "solid" then I can see all the borders and I notice the problems I were having in Firefox were showing as a space beneath images.

I added a few of the things that you mentioned, DrP, but it hasn't made any difference, unfortunately.

Anybody have any other ideas?

Hi,

I've only had a cursory glance, but try adding..

Code:
display:block;
to the variable(s)s in the dropdown menus.

That worked with the button display I had an FF display problem with.

Cheers

I've just tried that, as you suggested, but it's now made the buttons too big in both Mozilla FireFox and Internet Explorer.

It appears that each link within the drop-down menu has two line-breaks until the next one. Basically, it's changed it from having no space between each link to having too much space.

Any other suggestions?
