Dreamweaver delete record problems
Hey I'm wondering if anyone here can help, I'm building a site using asp in dreamweaver for an assignment and it requires a master detail page for a big list of questions, which when you click on one of them it goes to the detail page which then displays the question and answer, thats all working, but we also have to have a modify, delete and add page link on the detail page for the questions. I have those pages all made to do that, but for example when im in the detail page and I then click 'delete' to delete the question and answer, it will only bring up the first question (or record) on the list (on the master detail page) to be deleted, even if you clicked on a question that is 6th down the list. I'm more of a designer than a programmer so I've been looking thru all the dreamweaver help but still nothing makes sense! If anyone understands what i mean then could you please help me? it's due on monday!!!

You need to link the record you want to delete via it's unique ID in your data source. The same thing goes for your update/edit page. If there is no way for the page to filter what you want it will go to the first record in the recordset.

Sweet I understand that but I just don't know how to go about doing it? Is there something i need to change through the record or will i have to go into the code? Sorry, these things don't really come to me that easily

Of course you will have to go into the code to fix it. You can pass a variable from one page to another or by using the reqest object to pass it to your delete or edit page.
