Id get rid of all that onload alert and prompt javascript. It gets annoying for people who have to go through it every page load. Also, I'm not a big fan of intro pages, I'd have it straight to the main page. Users don't like going through allot to find the actual page.

The poll worked fine for me.

Also, you should do something about the background, some words run together and it makes it too confusing. You could try fading it a little or adding opacity.

Ok well i really hate webpages that mess around with the mouse like that!! I rarely see them but it really get annoying!!! Also you should take into consideration what if the user doesn't want to listen to the music?? I would but that music file in a flash .swf file and let the user stop/play it using buttons, because we all know the windows media player looks bad on pages!

If you need help with actionscript just ask, not that hard though... and a demo of flash is available here: http://www.macromedia.com

Dump the background image or make it static and not scrolling. I would also make it be partially transparent. Drop the background music or give the viewer the option to turn it off. Also, pepole are going to have a hard time figuring out what the site is about from your intro page. Make a Bio page, split everything up into categories and have a good navigation menu.

So so far:
-Get rid of the music
-Change background picture
-Get rid of the cursor thing
-Create a navigation page

I'll change those as soon as possible, have a couple of tests coming up so I don't have time but I will soon...Thank You all for your suggestions so far, and keep 'em coming :P!

The main page was a little too busy . It was hard to read many of the listed items/links. Also, the poll stated that "all results in by Nov 31st" . I don't think you will ever reach that day. I also agree with the others about the mouse takeover, the intro page and the pop-up dialog boxes. I did not check out any of the videos, but they look interesting.

Thank you, the site's mainly for the videos' actually because I recently took up magic and people who aren't in my school anymore wanted to see some of my magic so I put the videos up and also if you have time I suggest you look at the funny videos, and probably this weekend when I'm putting up more videos I'll remove/add everything suggested! Thank you all for your help, and I'm looking forward to more suggestions on the new page! Thanks again!

I forgot to mention one thing about the poll. It seems to work because it reloads the page and everything but when you click on view results it doesn't count the vote...how can I fix that? Also is there a way that I can store the pop-ups in the cookies like the one that asks for the name only comes up once and stays in the cookies, is there a way to do that for the other popup as well? Suggestions by this weekend, I'm updating it probably tomorrow...Thank You all!

BTW: I got rid of the cursor thing because it was like a 2-second job

1. contrast. try and maybe get rid of the underlined text on the front page.
2. yeah, hate the music. it could also annoy viewers that dont want to have to load that music withouth knowing it, or have it jumping becuase of a slow connection. also the music ends, maybe it could at least repeat if it has any chance of staying there.
3. background is inconsistant (if i know what im talking about ). the background probibly shoudnt be a picture, instead more of a repeating texture. in fact, try and get something that can fit in small sizes, and repeat that a lot to make the background more suitable.
4. poll, i cant see properly. maybe on the front page you can state what resolution the site would be most suitably viewed in if thats my fault. otherwise make it bigger and clearer.
5. place the clips and their sizes in tables (for extra features, ones that change when you click on one of the headers of that table so it would categorise). first column would probibly the movies name, second the size, third popularity (if you can do that), and so on.
6. and yeah, the problems the other guys have above.

oh yeah, this site has the potential to fit in one view windows. maybe it would be much better if it didnt take up a 3 windows amount, and you could see 70% of it from the viewers front screen. you know what i mean?

if anything, there shouldnt really be a timer (clock?) at the bottom. pretty much everyone has one on their taskbar, and can look it at their own will. maybe replace it with a counter instead.

To get that to work you would need to store the count in a variable or DB on the server. In order to get that information you would need to use ASP, JSP, or something along those lines so that you could retrieve he information from the server when you needed it. There are also something called Remote Scripting that will allow you to call server side scripts that will get the updated data from the server so you can display it on your page. Good Luck.

Would you be able to dumb it down a bit?

For information about ASP, go to http://www.activeserverpages.com/activeserverpages/ or http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/ or http://www.asp101.com/

For information about Remote Scripting, go to http://www.developerfusion.co.uk/show/2190/2/

Hope this helps.
