suggestions for improvement?
hey guys, now ive sorted out the technical issues i was having with php(php guy is a life saver) i was hoping you guys might give me some feedback re: my fansite.
The Url is www.itechnet.co.uk
there is no content as of yet, i just need feedback re:design, layout, if ur browsers work, size etc. thanks in advance!
If you want to change the skin of the website click any one of the 4 stars in the top right corner, the top one being the default that you start on.
Cheers guys!

I like the design, really looks good. The extra load wait for the images is well worth it.

I'm just curius to see how you are going to put content in, is might be hard to make it so it's visible on all 4 backgrounds.

i'm planning on having a darker transparent layer to the left of the logo, then use a silver/grey coloured font. as far as loading times are concerned, how long did you have to wait? cos i may have to compress the images if thats the case.
thanks for your feedback, and for your help earlier!

I didn't have to wait, but from a dial-up point of view, it might take some time. Once the background image is downloaded the first time, it should be fine for dial up though. Now that I think about it, it actually isn't bad. The image is really the only part of the file, which is 112kb. This page is 104kb without a heavy image load. Plus, the image will be downloaded, so new pages will load quicker.

Forget what I said earlier, the speed is pretty good.

I'd like to see what the site looks like when it's done. Can you make a post when it's all finished?

Good job and good luck.

That looks great! Real easy to read.

The blue link is kinda hard to read though, you might wana change the link color to something a little more visible.

thnx
cheers mate, i have now changed and totally agree. I'm really stumped on somethingthough(i have posted this in web developement, but you seem to be the man to ask). I have put a frame on the information page, with text and a picture, and set it to scroll so i can add more info later, but i want to get rid of the horizontal scroll bar, as it is not needed and looks ugly. can you think of anything?

Hey, just wannna say, it looks really good so far, and good luck in the future. I'll bookmark your page, and visit it every once in a while to check for random errors. Another really neat thing you can do if your images are slow, are upload them to www.imageshack.us, and use the direct link instead of hosting it on your own server, or the web hoster your using. This will help images load faster if imageshack servers are faster than your servers. And imageshack servers are very fast...
