Can anyone tell me where "%20" comes from?
Well I have a system setup for music streaming and when I click on the links for the actual songs I see in the status bar, random "%20" where there are actually spaces inbetwee the words.

Is there some basic HTML thing or a certain NO NO that I should have known when creating my dir's?

Thanks

You can't have spaces in urls.

%20 is the filler for a space.

So if the file is my music it will display as my%20music

And the "no no" is having the spaces to being with

Try something like my-music or my_music next time

They look better (no one likes seeing an ugly long url. It becomes long with all the extra %20 fillers)

yeah that makes sense. I removed all the space from the dir on the fileserver, then also from the actual file....but still no go....hmmmm

see what I mean by going here:

((( url removed )))

Then click on the first song.....use the green arrow on the far right, you will see what I mean.

I'm going to assume that you don't have a license to broadcast that music... If that's the case, I'd suggest taking the site down before you get into any trouble.

nope I don't it is a personal media streamer, for when I travel on the road for work. Was not going to be public....
Once I got things working I was going to change the domain to another one I owned...

Sorry about that

Password Protect the directory then.
Everything on the Internet is "public" unless there is no way at all someone can access it, such as with a password. But that's not fool proof, passwords can be cracked.

If you don't own a license to the music, and it's online, do as much as you can to make sure it can't be distributed to others.
