I'm new to posting my own Web site, and I'm trying to use FileZilla to upload my Web site (which is an html document) using the ftp given to me by the company hosting my domains. However, whenever I transfer the html document, the Web site still looks like it did before (which is a generic screen saying so-and-so is hosting this site, etc).

Every tutorial I've seen just says to make the transfer and Bob's your uncle, but I'm obviously missing something, b/c my html document is the only thing (it seems) in the domain folder.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

The host needs to change the default document on the web server. If you are using the correct document name you may have a problem with the extension being .html or .htm
I think Apache servers also look at file names as case sensitive as well.
