Hey Biker,

I dabble in domains and web design but I've not heard of a domain creation script. What do you mean?

Domains need to be registered through an ICANN registrar, look around for a reseller account if you want to sell them.

Ahh... that's why I was confused.. it's not a script. Yes, you have to be "accredited" by ICANN in order to register domain names.

I do not believe there are any "free" ones.

Question, is ICANN the only original registrar?

So all the hundreds of domain sellers out there all are re-sellers of ICANN?

If so, then why such a difference in prices. Depending on where I shop the price ranges from $2.99-$15.99/year (maybe there are some cheaper/more expensive, that's just the price range I found online from various sites)?

ICANN is the international governing body over registrars. I don't believe they sell domains themselves but set down the rules of what can and can't be done with domains.

If I understand the process correctly.... for example... ENOM is a registrar so they have their price. Then you have people who will become a resellers for ENOM and sell domains through their own site... kinda like a broker. So... they have to set a price that makes money for them and covers their cost to ENOM.

If I'm wrong, someone correct me.
