Site description in search results
The last things I think I have to do is fix the description that comes up when I search for our website and find a way to keep all the junk ad posts out of our guestbook. At the moment, it is not what it should be. Would anyone mind taking a look and tell me what I need to do to fix this?

I just added some meta tags. Thought it may help. Didn't.

Thanks,

Pocketangel

I search for "Angels Of Destiny"
OOps might need address, heh http://angelsofdestiny.net

Maybe my question wasn't very clearly stated.

When I search for the site in the above post, it gives me this:

Angels Of Destiny Guestbook
E-mail: renee@angelsofdestiny.net Location: Southeast Texas Comments: I enjoy painting angels and doing other odd jobs for AOD. The odd jobs keep me on my toes. It was a pleasure to create this website for ...

...as the number one hit. That's not what should be coming up. Instead I was hoping for something from the contents of the homepage

Anyone know what I need to do? I am a serious noob, so please speak very slowly

How do I find out if my code for formmail.pl is Matts formmail script? It has been there for a long time and I am not real sure anymore where it came from. I understand that it may be insecure and that, if it is, I should remove it. Also, could this explain why our guestbook is flooded with ad posts about pharmacy drugs etc?

Here is the link to the entire post that I am referring to:

It's been three days now, and I am starting to think this question may be too difficult to understand. I'm going to try to re-word it.

Okay, when I do a search for "angels of destiny", I get the site, but its description is "Angels Of Destiny Guestbook
E-mail: renee@angelsofdestiny.net Location: Southeast Texas Comments: I enjoy painting angels and doing other odd jobs for AOD. The odd jobs keep me on my toes. It was a pleasure to create this website for ... ", which is the first entry in our guestbook. This is not what we wanted to appear in our search description. We'd like to have a description of what the site is about. Here is the site URL: http://angelsofdestiny.net. Can anyone help?

I removed some meta tags and now, am seeing, in my search results, text that is found at the bottom of the homepage, which is better, but i'd prefer it was the text found at the top.

Anybody?

Oh.. poor pocketangel, no one talks to you...

I will help you! (If I can )

Go to Page Properties of your webpage (or where do you write your meta tags) and you should find there two options:

1. Page META description - This is exactly what is shown in search engine results. It hasn't shown anywhere else except SEs!
2. Page META keywords - I believe you know about keywords... They help a little with search for your website.

By the way you should be able to write your Page META description once for it to be on each page of your website, and should also be able to change it for any page that you would like to. The same for keywords.

At least this is how it works in the real estate CMS I'm using (I don't know anything in HTML or any other IT technologies, but with this CMS you actually don't need to know any of them ).

Thank you so much Yaroslav. I was starting to think my posts were imaginary
I'll try what you have said and see if I can fix this.
If not, I'll be back!
