Solved: Non-Profit Web Host/ Page Problem
We are a non-profit agency whose web site was created by a company doing this exclusively. The site is www.leapsnbounds.org.
My concern is with the masthead. It's huge and takes up so much space. The hosting company says they are not able to resize/ reduce it. I guess it's a stock item. Some of the pages only need a few more lines free in order to view the whole page on the screen. How do I have the page automatically scroll up upon opening to conceal the masthead?

is the website yours - this could be resized - if you look at the code the banner image has a size property for height and width - so it should be possible to reduce.

however, for the links you could also include a bookmark and then the page should open at the bookmark - just below the header

Thanks. I'm printing out the source code and will try a bookmark on one of the pages. Will let you know how that works.

The text containing the link read: <a class=links href=programs.asp></a> I added #"start" to the end and created an anchor on the programs page named "start". I'm getting the same results. I'm a beginner with HTML and would guess the class=links attribute may be preventing my attempt. Should I delete that reference? Also does it matter whether its asp or html.

code you added

Quote:
<a href="http://www.charityadvantage.com/leapsnboundsorg/Programs.asp#youthprograms"
no idea how bookmarks and aspp work together - this may be the problem

nut dont see #start
just see
#youthprograms

so not sure how you bookmarked

or have i got the wrong area -
I also notice hovering over the hyperlink I dont see the #bookmark - which o would also expect to see as part of the hyperlink in the status bar

Sorry. I was not specific enough. The text containing the link is on the "Mission Statement" (which is the home) page. QUOTE:<a class=links href programs.asp#"start"></a> It refers to the bookmark named "start" on the Programs page.

sorry i must be losing the plot here

You have a page loaded which has Mission statement in the text - there you have a bookmark called <a name=start></a>
so far so good is - I link it needs to have this syntax
<a name="start"></a>
notice the quotes

Now we need a hyperlink to go to this page and bookmark

<a class=links href programs.asp#"start"></a>

not sure about the syntax here

<a href="pagelocation.htm#bookmarkname">

so maybe
<a class=links href "programs.asp#start"></a>

but I cant see that link on the page - is this the default to open the site

If so why not try changing one of the other links and pages as a test
