IE6 issue with HTML
Hi, I hope someone can help me...
I use dreamweaver MX to do the Html. I don't really know HTML much however it does not scare me I have played with it abit.
I have a table within a table within a table. Sound like trouble already right?( Maybe I will switch to CSS sometime but the thought of redoing all those pages right now...)
Anyway Netscape, Opera, Firefox all show the page correctly The problem is that IE shows it incorrectly and downright dumb looking. IE is allowing the text in the center to change the size of the table columns pushing the boxes out and in some cases jumping up alongside the thumbnail images.
The link is www.warp9design.com
Below I have included the DW browser check complete with errors and code. I am really only concerned at this time with fixing the visable problem. I am not confident the problem is in the below code, although there may be other problems there. From what I have read IE does not interprete the HTML correctly sometimes and a workaround is required. I appreciate any help and advise you can spare.
Thank you all in advance

To start off with.... The very most center table has a width of 420 but the TD's have attributes of 150... If your target width is 420 3x150 = 450.... additionally you have vspace applied to the images which will also push the td's beyond the 420. Thta's really not the source though since it appears the containe for the 420 table has more than enough space even if if those attibutes are pushing it out....

The problem is here:

Code:
<td width="150"><h2 align="center"><font size="1" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><a href="http://www.cafepress.com/warp9_design/278690"><img height="96" alt="Powerful Wizard - Wall Clock" hspace="15" src="assets/PromoButtons-BestSellers/Best-seller-Wizard-clock.jpg" width="120" align="absMiddle" vspace="15" border="0"></a>Powerful Wizard - Wall Clock</font></h2>
 </td>

Compare it to:
Code:
<td width="150"><h2 align="center"><font size="1" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><a href="http://www.cafepress.com/warp9_design/280352"><img height="96" alt="Drive it like you stole it - ringer tshirt" hspace="15" src="assets/PromoButtons-BestSellers/Best-seller-Drive-it-like-you-stole-it-ringerT.jpg" width="120" align="absMiddle" vspace="15" border="0"></a></font></h2>
                      <h2 align="center"><font size="1" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">"Drive it like you stole it" Ringer T-shirt </font></h2></td>
The text after the image isn't wrapped in it's own tag.

Thank you for the reply.
I changed the widths by hand. With the WYSIWYG editor it is easy to move things around but I will remember to check it in the code. It was far easier to correct it in the code I found out then trying to slide the frames around.
The reason the text (some of it) was not wrapped in its own code is because it was part of the same line as the image. Which is why I suppose that IE was jumping the text out. That does not tell me how to get around internet explorer's problem as the other browsers show the code correctly. Except to make the text on the next line. Which did solve the issue. Now the text has its own code as you said, and IE reads it properly. Unfortunately because it is its own line the vertical spacing is too much for my liking but is it far superior to the way it was.

It is odd that the bulk of errors in dreamweaver's browser warnings are not IE yet the other browsers seem to view the page correctly.
If anyone has further comments they are welcome, thanks for the help.

Hi there I was wondering if someone could help me. I am having problems with my website. I have error messages... Have attached print screens rather than trying to explain what they are. This is my first website so am still learning.
Someone could you please help me

http://www.pollett.co.nz

I use DreamweaverMX2004. I have managed to merge the website through FTP which works fine in Explorer but not in Netscape, Firefox or Opera. Saying I have to change my properties etc.. Have a look at my attachments anyway. I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks for your time
