Images don't load on certain machines
Hi

I've made a website but on certain machines all the images wont load, I'm thinking is some kind of security issue, I think this becasue when I ran my website on my machine some security certificate window showed up asking me if I wanted to continue I said yes, I imagine someone must have said no. But I'm not sure that is the reason.

This is the website

www.rogeliodesign.com

Internet explorer is the browser on machines tested.

Do you use ActiveX at all?

The security message that you mentioned is probably because of ActiveX (IMO - don't use it at all - it will make things much easier ).

Quote:
The most common sizes for banner ads are 468 x 60 px and half of that (234 x 60 px). Other popular sizes are 460 x 55 px, 392 x 72 px, 125 x 125 px, 120 x 90 px, 120 x 60 px, 88 x 31 px, 120 x 240 px.
Are the images being blocked any of those sizes? If so, they may be blocked by firewalls or adblocking software.

Actually the list can be quite extensive. I came across this problem about 2 years ago when i had put some images in a folder called banners. they were't banners as you would think of them but banners that were images used as titles. Fully functional without the image itself but norton stripped the entire code out and never even showed that it was missing.

If there was one time in my life that I considered seeingan attorney that was it. I can see blocking malicious code, hot linked images etc but I don't think they should be able to block legitimate content whether it's an ad or im my case legitimate content. They should at least have a placeholder that it was removed... anyhow end of the rant.

As of March 2004 this is the list for things norton would block, either in the URL or image size. It probably has changed since then. It's really useless because anyone serving ads would know about this and could just use an odd size or odd named directory....:

I also got so annoyed with my Norton Personal Firewall that I just turned the ad-blocking feature off. It would block legitimate images.

That's the kind of list I was looking to post, but I'm too lazy and I just chose the first result on Google I could find.
