Web Page / Blog Newbie
Some basic advice please. I need to have a simple way to post info for my daugthers girl scout troop such as Activity dates and places, leader phone number, etc. The page site would be relativly static in terms of content. Only the simplest of graphcs.

So would it be simpler to set up a Blog or a real website? I have an Earthlink account with a small amount of website space allocated, but I have not used it yet. Are blogs hosted the same way as webisites? Are there site better suited for blogs?

Thanks in advance

Tom

Blogs require scripting languages such as PHP and databases like MySQL. Odds are they are not available on your free package.

Just create a static HTML page and update that when you want.

You could try http://blogger.com they will give you a FREE blog hosted on their site so it doesn't take up any of your space.

I once created a blog using a text file and a form. Wrote in the form, php was used to "write" it to the text file on one of my websites. But it was limited, so I switched over to blogger.com

if it's just for a girl scout troop and I can only assume a small number of people: why not just get email addresses from everyone and just send an email with any new info?

That would be the cheap way to go...and easiest if it is feasible.
