You can use either a .txt file or a .xml file. Which one are you trying to create?

Here, just save this attached file to your computer.

.txt sitemaps are the easiest, because all you have to do is list the urls (one per line) then save it as sitemap.txt

it is NOT a good idea to have apostrophes in your file names...
