Free flash maker?
Does anyone know a good free Flash maker, that's got most of the same stuff Macromedia Flash MX has?

The last free flash maker I used lacked the ability to use ActionScripts

I've been looking for one for years and years and years.....

If you are on Linux there are some options in development, but there aren't any versions for Windows yet.

This is my thread that I've been collecting links on for about a year... The forum is dying and stuff (it's a long story) but the thread is still good:

http://www.freewebsitehost.net/fwhfo...opic.php?t=879

It's a long thread with lots of links and edits and additions, kind of messy, but really I'll take the bottom line from the thread:

So, if you are a beginner, go with Powerbullet, if you are advanced, use LiveSwif.

I am referring to Powerbullet Presenter, which was taken down, than put back up... Any way you can still download it. It's pretty nice for doing really basic stuff in Flash, no ActionScript, no timeline, not anything like that. Basically just great for doing some small Flash presentations.

On the other hand, if you want more advanced features, LiveSwif offers some of them. There are many versions floating around out there. LiveSwifers.org has apparently taken it open-source, or taken the source and made version 2.2, on the other hand there is LiveSwif Lite and LiveSwif 2.1 floating around, all free, I'm not really sure what the difference is really.

Anyway I would look on www.liveswif.net. They revived the project and have links to LiveSwif Lite and LiveSwif 2.2.

The bottom line is you're not going to find a Flash authoring program that rivals Flash itself for free, or not anytime soon. Maybe if somebody starts up an good open-source project, but for now you're stuck with stuff like Powerbullet and LiveSwif. But at least they're free.

Also one last note, there are many flash programs out there (e.g. KoolMoves) that are fairly decent and area available for under $100.

I haven't even heard of any good free flash creators. I thought most were really bad....

The best way to go is to get the real thing, but it's expensive. If you have any specific needs you can create a thread and covert or I can make you it.

What exactly are you making? There are free button creators available everywhere. Most of them are specialized.
