file uploads
Hi, I'm looking for a program or script to allow users to upload tif files to our web server. I've seen some php and perl scripts out there but I don't have a lot of time for all the testing and debugging. I'm willing to purchase at a reasonable price. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Tim

Try Coppermine Photo Gallery, it is really a file upload management system. it's a lot more complicated than a simple upload script but it will also be a lot more secure. You can also set a lot of permissions and if you have a forum it will integrate with most of the popular ones.

While on the topic there is one security issue that I saw crop up a few months back with Coppermine that may be present in a lot of upload scripts. Try uploading a php script with a .rar extension or unknown extension. (i.e.: somefile.php.rar or somefile.php.hjngkrnm ) Then see if you can run it.

This was particular to Coppermine because it would only check the extension of the upload, if you allowed .rar files then it would accept it. Once uploaded it would run as a .php file because Apache doesn't know what .rar file is.
